Rules that surprise people
At check-in
Cash deposit and passport
Expect to hand over your passport so the front desk can register your stay, which hotels in Vietnam must do for foreign guests, and to pay the cash deposit in dong. Both come back at check-out.
Remember to bring about 1 million dong in cash for the deposit. Do not assume a card hold will be accepted instead.

Families
Children, cots and extra beds
The resort’s own rules are more generous than the booking page: one child under 6 free in the parents’ bed and one extra bed allowed per room. Booking-page rates allow cots but no extra beds.
Remember to enter every child and age when you search. Do not count on an extra bed for a third adult; book the Family House.
